Week 6 Underway; NCEA Notebook

Nine competitions set for the weekend

WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) is looking for tricks and treats in the sixth week of competition.

There are nine meets set across the membership of the NCEA, with the Meet of the Week being South Dakota State at UT Martin for Dual Discipline, along with No. 3 Sweet Briar at Bridgewater for Single.

MEET OF THE WEEK
10/31 – No. 3 Sweet Briar at Bridgewater
- Both Sweet Briar and Bridgewater are 1-1 headed into Friday's action
- The Vixens topped Centenary but fell to College of Charleston while the Eagles also bested Centenary but were outdone by Lynchburg
- SBC's Naomi Dachis (Fences) and Maggie Booth (Flat) each boast an MOP honor
- Willow Wright (Fences) and Margaret Brown (Flat) have MOP accolades to their name so far this season
- Sweet Briar leads the series at 9-0

MEET OF THE WEEK
10/31 – South Dakota State at UT Martin / Live Scoring
- South Dakota State is 2-2 on the season while UT Martin sits at 1-1 going into the meet
- This marks the first home meet of the season for UT Martin
- It is the second meeting between the Skyhawks and SDSU so far this season. The Jackrabbits won that first meet, 10-7, on October 4; it snapped a 10-meet winning streak for UT Martin over SDSU
- UTM has one MOP in all four events so far this season with Daphne Staving (Fences), Shelby Davis (Flat), Olivia Wynn (Horsemanship) and Elise Mason (Reining)
- SDSU boasts MOPs in Juliana Gullo and Isabelle Mallick (Fences), Kayla Scherer (Flat), Avery Bergan (Horsemanship), as well as Mary Mead and Lillie Wallis (Reining)
- UT Martin leads the all-time series in full dual meets at 24-6

10/31-11/1 – South Dakota State against No. 2 South Carolina / Live Scoring
- The meet will be split between two days; Horsemanship, Flat and Reining will take place on Friday, Fences on Saturday
- South Carolina leads the all-time series at 9-1; the last time SDSU defeated them was in October of 2017 with a score of 15-4
- It will be the first meeting for the two since the 2023-24 season; last time USC won 12-8 and then 15-3 in the two contests
- The Gamecocks enter the weekend with a 3-1 record
- USC's first road meet of the season was last weekend with Georgia and UC Davis in Athens; the Gamecocks went 1-1 on the weekend


10/31 – No. 6 Fresno State at No. 10 Baylor / Live Scoring
- Baylor opens its home slate with a top-10 matchup, welcoming Fresno State for the 'Dogs first road test
- BU leads the all-time series with the Bulldogs, 20-9
- It will be the Bears' 'Trot or Treat' meet where BU is asking fans to don black and with decorative candy bags for fans
- With FS coming in ranked, BU will have faced four ranked opponents to start its season (0-3), while the Bulldogs have defeated two-straight coming into the meet (2-0)
- Lauren Reid of the Bears has three MOPs so far this season, one in Fences and two in Flat, as well as a 90.5-point ride under her belt. Lauren Jorgensen has an MOP in Fences
- FS has seven riders across the four events who are unbeaten after two meets

10/31 – No. 3 Auburn at No. 7 TCU / Live Scoring
- Auburn enters the meet at 2-1 while TCU is 2-2
- The last time the Horned Frogs hosted AU was in 2013
- Auburn has won seven-straight in the series with the Horned Frogs, but TCU owns a 2-1 advantage in home contests
- The Horned Frogs had a week off from competition while the Tigers are coming off a 1-1 trip to Texas
- Auburn fell to Texas A&M in a tiebreaker before besting SMU also in a tiebreaker a day later
- TCU has six different MOPs so far this season, with Tatum Keller (Horsemanship) earning two, Lily Muzzy with two in Fences, and Lex Lipacis earning one in each Fences and Flat
- The Tigers' Avery Glynn (Fences), Caroline Olsen and Ariana Marnell (Flat), Sydney Swallom and Brooke Jolstad (Horsemanship) and Alexia Tordoff (Reining) account for Auburn's seven MOPs so far this season

11/1 – No. 2 South Carolina at UT Martin / Live Scoring
- It will be the 11th meeting between the programs, South Carolina leading 10-0 against the Skyhawks
- The Gamecocks are 5-0 when facing UT Martin in Tennessee
- The programs last met in March 2025 where SC took an 11-7 win over UTM
- The Gamecocks are MOP heavy in Jumping Seat as Natalie Jayne and Grace Rabb (Fences), Kenley Koch, Sarah Rabb and Amira Kettaneh (Flat) have earned honors, with Olivia Cardi earning an accolade in Reining and Ruby Voortmeyer in Horsemanship

11/1 – No. 6 Fresno State at No. 4 Texas A&M / Live Scoring
- Fresno State will take on its second ranked opponent in as many days, facing Texas A&M on Saturday in College Station
- The Aggies lead the series at 14-1
- The last time the two met, Fresno State fell, 14-6, in Texas in November 2022
- It is a blackout for the Aggies

11/1 – No. 2 College of Charleston at No. 4 Dartmouth
- College of Charleston comes into the weekend at 2-1, while Dartmouth is 1-0
- The series is tied at 2-2 between the programs
- The Big Green opened its season last weekend against Centenary with a 7-3 win
- CofC is coming off a 2-0 weekend, besting then-No. 2 Sweet Briar and Berry
- College of Charleston has MOPs in Olivia Lonneman (Fences), Camilla Murray (Fences & Flat) and Samantha Aisenberg (Flat)
- Dartmouth touts Cassidy Exner as its MOP in Fences from the 10/26 meet

11/2 – No. 2 College of Charleston at Sacred Heart
- Sacred Heart is 1-0 coming into the meet under new head coach Hannah Lloyd
- The series is tilted in the Cougars favor at 2-1 all-time
- SHU defeated Centenary, 9-1, and took both MOPs in Carina Muratore (Fences) and Reagan Waggoner (Flat)
