WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) saw twelve meets in the sixth week of spring competition.
3/6 No. 5 Sweet Briar Finishes Regular Season With Win Over Berry
SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The No. 5 single discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team (6-3, 5-2 ODAC) rode to a commanding 9–1 victory over the Berry College Vikings on Friday, backed by strong performances in both fences and flat to post a 794–705 overall score at home.
In fences competition, Sweet Briar set the tone early with a 4–1 event win, highlighted by a Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) ride from first-year Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.), who delivered an 85 on Kobe for the team's top score in the event. Senior Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) added an 83 on Hemingway to secure a point, while fellow senior Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) matched that 83 on Jetson to put another point on the board. Senior Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) rounded out scoring in the fences portion of the meet with a winning 79 on Tallulah, helping the Vixens to a 408–362 advantage over Berry and the overall event win.
On the flat, Sweet Briar was even more dominant, sweeping the event 5–0 to lock up the meet. Sophomore Gracie Robertson (Mocksville, N.C.) delivered a standout 83 on Trey to earn the flat MOP honor and cap Sweet Briar's scoring surge. Sophomore Abigail Schreiner (Villa Rica, Ga.) impressed with a 79 on GG, while Booth continued her strong day with a 77 on Aate to secure another point in the second event. First-year Hallie Nelson (Duette, Fla.) contributed a winning 74 on Kanye, and Felton added a 73 on Emmett, giving Sweet Briar a 386–343 Flat edge and completing the 9–1 team victory.

3/6 No. 10 Baylor Topples UT Martin, 12-4
FRESNO, Calif. – The 10th-ranked Baylor equestrian team earned a 12-4 victory over UT Martin on Friday afternoon at the Student Horse Center in Fresno, Calif.
The Bears (3-7, 2-3 Big 12) earned event wins in Fences, Flat and Reining to defeat the Skyhawks (4-8, 4-3 ECAC). BU swept the Most Outstanding Performer honors with senior Lauren Jorgenson (Fences), sophomore Britt McIlaney (Reining), Caroline Robelen (Flat) and Carley Rutledge (Horsemanship) all earning the nod.
THE RUNDOWN
Starting the day off in Fences, BU dominated, sweeping the event 4-0. MOP Jorgensen rode for an 85.5 to best the Skyhawks' 83. Freshman Morgan McCarthy earned her point with an 80.5 against a 68 from her opponent. Senior Lauren Reid upended UT Martin's 80 with an 82 and junior Sofia Moskowitz completed the sweep by besting her opponent 80.5-69.
After a short break, the two squads competed in Horsemanship, with the Skyhawks winning the event 3-1. Freshman Talyor Eller rode for a career high of 72.75 but wasn't able to best UT Martin's 73. MOP Rutledge earned the Bears' sole point riding for a 74.5 against UT Martin's 73.25.
Entering halftime, BU had a 5-3 lead going into Flat and Reining.
In Reining, senior Kelena Reynolds upended her opponents 68.5 with a 68.75 to win her point. MOP McIlnay rode for a 69.5 to topple the Skyhawks 67. Fifth-year senior Bella Hehr defeated her 68.25-67.25. The Bears won the event, 3-1.
Finishing in Flat, riding against a 70.5, MOP Robelen earned a 78.5 to earn a point. Jorgensen rode for a 78.5 to best UTM's 64.5. Reid posted a 79.5 against the Skyhawks 70. McCarthy rode for a 72 to rout out UT Martin's 71.5. The Bears swept the event 4-0 and won the meet 12-4.

8 – The Jumping Seat squad won all eight points to sweep both Flat and Fences for the first time since the Bears swept both events against Minnesota Crookston to wrap up the 2025 regular season.

3/6 No. 2 Gamecocks Pick Up 15-4 Win Over Jackrabbits
BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – The No. 2 South Carolina Equestrian team (9-4, 3-3) defeated No. 10 South Dakota State (4-7, 4-3) 15-4 on Friday to remain undefeated at home.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gamecocks started the day with a 5-0 sweep in Fences. Bella Primavera defeated Sarah Gould 80-71 on Marty, and Alyssa Bauer’s 85 beat Julianna Gullo’s 78 on Dobby. Amira Kettaneh picked up her point with an 86-80 on Q. Natalie Jayne brought in an 88 against Isabell Malick’s 83. Jayne grabbed her fourth MOP of the season for her ride on Schnitzel. Grace Rabb completed the sweep on Lenny, winning 74-67.
South Carolina earned a 4-1 win over the Jackrabbits in Horsemanship to increase the lead to 9-1. Ruby Voortmeyer edged out Hailey Hanson 72.5-72 on Stanley, and Alexis Potts brought in a 76 on Ziggy, scoring her point and earning her fifth MOP honors of the season (most in NCEA). Alyssa Jipping scored her point with a 74 on Brad, and Carly Jenkins rounded it out with a 73.5-72.5 win on Winston against Grace Gerbus.
The Gamecocks took another 4-1 victory in Flat, clinching the South Carolina win and extending the lead to 13-2. Kettaneh started things off, scoring her point with a dominant 85-66 win. She picked up her sixth MOP honors of the season for her ride on Dento. Jayne won 80-57 on Fenway, and Sarah Rabb edged out Heidi White 66-65 on Nino. Vanessa McCaughley scored her point with a 69 on Major.
The day finished in Reining, where the Gamecocks and Jackrabbits split the points 2-2. Opal Fomish earned a 71-69 win over Adisyn Kuxhaus on Nike, and Olivia Cardi’s 70.5 on Thor finished the scoring for South Carolina. Emily Patton and Hailey Hanson each scored a 71.5 to close the event out with a tie.

3/6 ‘Dogs Open Weekend With Win Over UT Martin
FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team opened the weekend with a dominating 16-4 win over UT Martin at the Student Horse Center on Friday. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 6-4 overall on the season, and 5-1 at home.
Fresno State swept the Most Outstanding Performer honors against the Skyhawks. Junior Sage Lindvall swept the jumping seat MOP honors on Friday. She is the first Bulldog to earn both MOPs in the jumping seat in a meet this season, earning the first honors of her career. Adrianna Runzo was the reining MOP and Shelby Robinette was MOP in horsemanship.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State opened with a 4-1 win in the fences. Sage Lindvall opened scoring with her MOP ride, outscoring her opponent 83.5-80.5. Her ride on Friday was the second-highest score of her career. Paris Mahoney, Bridey Jones and Paloma Primavera earned the next three points for the 'Dogs.
The Bulldogs won 3-2 in the horsemanship. UT Martin won the first two, and the Bulldogs bounced back for the final three. Abby Goddard earned the first point with a 74 and Hailey Olson followed with a 73.5 ride. Shelby Robinette earned the MOP with a 74.25, earning her first horsemanship MOP of the season.
The Bulldogs continued the momentum in the reining with another 4-1 win. Goddard and Robinette remained undefeated on the day, picking up the first two points. Adrianna Runzo and Brogan Hill closed out the scoring with the final two points. Runzo picked up her first MOP of the season with a 71.5 score.
Fresno State earned a 5-0 win in the flat, earning their first flat sweep of the season. Lindvall secured her second MOP of the day with an 84, the third-highest score of her career. Molly Stewart, Paris Mahoney, Autumn Bradbury and Ryley Ferguson completed the sweep for the Bulldogs. Four of the five rides for the Bulldogs all scored above an 80.

3/7 No. 2 Gamecocks Pick Up Win In Senior Day Finale Against Delaware State Hornets
BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – The No. 2 South Carolina Equestrian team finished the regular season with a 17-3 win over Delaware State on Saturday. The Gamecocks earned a 10-0 first-half sweep for the first time since 2013, which was also against Delaware State (March 1). The win is the Gamecocks’ tenth of the season, marking the most since the 2014-15 season (12), when South Carolina won the program’s third NCEA Championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The day started in Fences with Amira Kettaneh scoring her point with an 87 on Marty. Alyssa Bauer followed with a dominant 86-66 victory for her ride on Schnitzel. Bella Primavera defeated Elizabeth Hopkins 75-60 on Nino, and Natalie Jayne’s 82 on Q beat Melisa Acker’s 73. Grace Rabb completed the sweep in the event with an 85 on Dobby.
The Gamecocks won Horsemanship in the same 5-0 fashion. Alexis Potts defeated Hallie Prater 77-71 on Winston, and Alyssa Jipping outscored Madison Wojeck 75.5-74 on Brad. Lillian Laney (73.5) scored her point on Stanley, and Ruby Voortmeyer (73) earned hers on Sparky. Carly Jenkins made the score 10-0 Gamecocks when she scored a 74 for her ride on Ziggy.
South Carolina carried the momentum into the second half, winning Flat 5-0. Kettaneh won 85-64 on Major, and Jayne took her point with an 84 on Schnitzel. Mary Hunter Millet scored with an 83-56 victory on Fenway, and Sarah Rabb edged out Lily Kosal 71-70 on Dento. Kenley Koch completed the team’s third sweep of the day with a 72-52 win on Goose.
Over in Reining, the Hornets won the battle 3-2. Freshman Emily Patton picked up the first point of the event with her 69-66 win on Nike. Olivia Cardi rounded out the day with a win on Giallo, defeating Bailey Henderson 72-62.5 and earning an MOP.

3/7 No. 1 Auburn dominates No. 5 Texas A&M in regular season finale
AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team put an exclamation on the regular season, downing No. 5 Texas A&M, 15-4, Saturday afternoon at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
Auburn (9-2, 4-2 SEC) won all four events on Senior Day and swept the Most Outstanding Performer honors in the dominating win over the Aggies. In addition, the victory secured the overall No. 1 seed at the SEC Championship, which the Tigers will host March 27-28.
“I’m so proud of this team and how they performed,” head coach Jessica Braswell said. “What a way for these seniors to finish the regular season together. We still have a lot of work in front of us, but I’m excited about where we are.”
The Tigers honored eight seniors in front of a big crowd Saturday. The team recognized Holland Barnett, Caroline Buchanan, Caroline Fredenburg, Lauren Hall, Isabel Litkenhous, Baylee Mckeever, Charlotte McLaughlin and Alexia Tordoff.
“I also was to thank the Auburn family for another great crowd today,” Braswell added. “We are looking forward to hosting SECs in a couple of weeks with our fans being able to come and support.”
Auburn kicked off the meet with a 7-3 lead at half, winning both Flat and Reining. The Flat corps put together a 4-1-0 mark vs. the Aggies, while Reining won 3-2.
Sophomore Sadie Berkhout led off Flat with a 77-69.5 victory before junior Avery Glynn scored a meet-high 86.5 points in her win to take MOP. Sophomore Ariana Marnell edged her opponent, 82.5-82, and classmate Kate Hagerty scored an 83 to defeat Devan Thomas’s 74.5.
Senior Caroline Buchanan won MOP in Reining for the Tigers, opening up the event with a 70.5-68.25 victory. Freshman Sofia Tieche scored a 70 to edge Isabelle Gonzalez’s 69.5 and junior Callie Hogg picked up the final point of the event for the squad with a 68.5-64.75 victory.
Three Tigers picked up victories vs. the Aggies in Horsemanship as Auburn went 3-1-1 in the second half of Western.
Seniors Alexia Tordoff and Caroline Fredenburg each scored 77s in the their wins with Fredenburg taking MOP honors. Junior Brooke Jolstad capped the event with a 75.25-75 edge over Meagan Braun.
Highlighting the second half was the sweep in Fences by the Tigers.
Freshman Caroline Olsen kicked off the event with a 73.5-72 win and was followed by Marnell’s MOP victory, 88-84. Hagerty earned an 86 and defeated Grace Shipman’s 83.5, while Glynn’s 79 held to beat Alida Treuting’s 78.5. Freshman Emily Jurnovoy completed the event sweep with an 75.5-83.5 victory.

3/7 Jackrabbits Claim Finale Against Hornets
BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. — Juliana Gullo earned Most Outstanding Performer honors in both jumping seat events to lead South Dakota State to a 9-6 victory over Delaware State in a head-to-head equestrian competition that concluded Saturday at One Wood Farm.
The 10th-ranked Jackrabbits completed the regular season with a 5-7 overall record, including a 5-3 mark against ECAC opponents.
SDSU and the Hornets entered Saturday tied at 4-all, but the Jackrabbits took control of the competition by sweeping all four points in the fences category. Gullo led the way by winning her matchup against Kaylynn Berry, 81-76, and Heidi White and Isabelle Malick each posted winning scores of 73 in their matchups. Sarah Gould completed the sweep with a 68-67 victory over Melisa Acker.
A senior from Itasca, Illinois, Gullo also captured MOP honors in flat with a top score of 71 as SDSU claimed three of the four available points in the event. White (69) and Malick (62) also were winners for the Jackrabbits.
SDSU closed out the competition by earning one point each in horsemanship and reining. Avery Bergan picked up the horsemanship point with a score of 71.5 while Maryn Mead tallied a score of 68.5 in reining to win her matchup against Estella Estus.
Emma Riggs tied in her reining matchup against Claire Andrews with a score of 70, while Hailey Hanson and Grace Gerbus each suffered half-point defeats in their horsemanship matchups.

3/7 Lynchburg NCEA Squad Closes Out Regular Season With Win Over Berry
Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team finished up their NCEA regular season with an 8-2 victory against Berry on Saturday at the Lynchburg Equestrian Center.
The No. 3 Hornets (8-2) took down the Vikings in dominant fashion, earning all five points in the Fences and three-of-five points in the Flat. Amaya Bellfield was a standout performer for Lynchburg today, earning MOP awards for both classes and scoring an 87 in each of her rides.
In the Fences, Mary Katherine Ragsdale rode to a score of 85, while Rebecca Collier was close behind with a score of 84 and Madeline Rubin followed suit with a score of 83. Stella Patenaude rounded out scoring performances for the Hornets with a solid 76 for a team point.
In the Flat, Abby Zemp was the next top performer for Lynchburg, scoring an 81 to secure a team point. Rubin rode to a score of 69 and beat her opponent by three for a team point. Collier and Abigail Devlin produced nice performances with scores of 75 and 73, respectively.

3/7 No. 4 SMU Destroys No. 6 Oklahoma State On Senior Day
DALLAS (SMU) – No. 4 SMU Equestrian dominated in its regular-season finale against No. 6 Oklahoma State on Saturday at the Dallas Equestrian Center, finishing with three MOPs and a score of 13-4.
The Mustangs dominated in Fences, pulling off their first sweep of the event this season. Senior Hannah Hoch secured the first point for SMU, besting her opponent 84-82. Captain Augusta Iwasaki recorded the same score as Hoch, defeating Oklahoma State's Bella Holway 84-75. Aedan Mooney threw down a score of 85 in her ride to add another point to the Mustangs' total. Freshman Schuyler Dayner found success in Fences, beating the Cowgirls' Ellie DuPuis 79.5-74.5. The final point came from sophomore Caroline Signorino. The New Jersey native earned a score of 87 to win the point and her first career MOP.
Horsemanship also proved to be a strong suit for the Mustangs at this meet, finishing 4-1. Senior Alexa Black and Junior Jayna Lagace led the Mustangs with scores of 78, each winning their point. Ava Blyth also added to the Mustangs' victory, contributing her point after posting a score of 76.25. Violet Shetler brought home the final win after defeating June Roberson 74-73.25.
SMU also took the win on Flat, posting an event score of 3-1. The first point came from Iwasaki after recording a score of 85.5. The performance earned the captain her sixth MOP of the season and her second on Flat. Aedan Mooney claimed her second victory of the day, defeating her opponent 81.5-79.5. Schuyler Dayner scored an 87 on Fedor, tying with Lourdes Low to prevent the Cowgirls from earning another point. The third and final win was awarded to Genevieve Johns who threw down a mark of 81.5.
The Mustangs and Cowgirls were closely contested in Reining, with two matchups ending in ties. Siena Krueger and Madison Rafacz both tied their points. Rafacz ends the regular season undefeated, finishing with a record of 8-0-2. The lone Reining point came from Sara Beth Filiatreau. Filiatreau nabbed her fourth MOP of the season after scoring a 73.25.
SMU ends the regular season with a record of 5-5.

3/7 No. 9 UC Davis Equestrian Sweeps Conference Slate with 14-5 Win Over UT Martin
DAVIS, Calif. — No. 9 UC Davis equestrian concluded its regular season in style on Saturday, March 7, celebrating Senior Day with a commanding 14-5 home victory over UT Martin. With the win, the Aggies finalized an undefeated run in ECAC conference play this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies opened the meet in Flat, where Carmen Gonzalez set the tone by delivering a massive 95 aboard Smilla to earn MOP honors with the highest score of both the event and the season. Sophomore Anna Donovan followed with an 80 aboard Classico, while Cavan Smith notched an 89 on Calvigo to beat her opponent by an impressive 24 points. Junior Lauren Kolbe closed the discipline with a 76 aboard Masi, securing the final point to give the Aggies a 4-1 event win.
Over in the Western Arena, Eliza Plum led the Aggies in Horsemanship with a team-high 74.5 aboard Shyloh, edging out her opponent by seven points to earn the lone point for UC Davis. Despite the hard-fought effort, the Skyhawks claimed the event 3-1.
The momentum shifted back to the Aggies in Fences, where UC Davis took four points to secure another 4-1 event victory. Smith opened the event with a 79 aboard Tony to take her point by an 11-point margin. Donovan followed with a strong 85 aboard Glennis, winning her matchup by 13 points, while Chloe Fares delivered a meet-high 88 aboard Otis to earn another UC Davis point as well as MOP honors. Kolbe closed out the event with an 86 aboard Bam Bam to claim the final point for the Aggies.
UC Davis closed out the day by sweeping Reining 5-0. Senior Mylea Trimble earned the first point with a 72 aboard Camacho to edge out her opponent's 70.5. Senior Nicole Shroyer followed with a 74 on Belle to win by 2.5 points, and senior Mya Calder added another point with a 73 aboard Vinny. Ada Hirschfeld maintained the momentum with a 69 on Penny, and Avery Adamson capped the dominant sweep with an event-high 74.5 aboard Mr. T, earning MOP honors and solidifying the 14-5 meet victory for the Aggies. This win marks the second time UC Davis has defeated the Skyhawks this season.

3/7 No. 8 'Dogs Defeat Baylor On Senior Day
FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team celebrated a Senior Day win over No. 10 Baylor on Saturday, defeating the Bears 11-8 at the Student Horse Center. Fresno State earned its sixth home win of the season, finishing the year with a 6-1 record at home to tie the single season program record for home wins. The Bulldogs end the regular season with a 7-4 record (3-3 Big 12), have won three-straight and await seeding for the Big 12 Championships.
The Bulldogs earned both western Most Outstanding Performer honors on Saturday. Freshman Margaret Meyer rode in her first career ride on Saturday and earned the horsemanship MOP with a 75.5. Alana Becker earned her first reining MOP of the season with a 72.
Fresno State's western units combined for a 7-2 showing against the Bears, their most wins in a conference meet this season.
Following the conclusion of the meet, the Bulldogs honored 10 seniors for Senior Day - Delaney Shanks, Abby Goddard, Mia Nunes, Brogan Hill, Alison Heupel, Bridey Jones, Autumn Bradbury, Ryley Ferguson, Molly Stewart and Quinn Durbin.

Baylor opened with a 3-2 win in the fences. Sage Lindvall opened the meet with a 82.5-74 win, but the Bears took the next three points. Molly Stewart earned the final point, scoring an 83.5 to her opponent's 81.5 in the last ride.
In the horsemanship, the Bulldogs earned a 3-1 win with a tie from Hailey Olson. Freshman Margaret Meyer earned the first point, having to go up against a 66.75. She rode for a 75.5, a top five score by a Bulldog this season in her first career ride in the lineup. Seniors Shelby Robinette and Abby Goddard also earned their points in their final home meets as Bulldogs.
Fresno State held on to a narrow 5-4 lead at the intermission.
The Bulldogs dominated in the reining with a 4-1 win. Adrianna Runzo lost the first point by half a point, but Fresno State responded to earn the last four. Robinette, Goddard, Becker and Brogan Hill closed out the reining with wins.
In the flat, Baylor won the first two points to keep the meet close. Lindvall remained undefeated on the day with a 80.5-77 point and Paris Mahoney followed with a 79-73 win to secure the win for the Bulldogs. Baylor won the final point of the meet, but the 'Dogs had enough for the team win.

3/8 No. 1 Dartmouth Falls To Centenary Cyclones
LONG VALLEY, NJ – The Centenary University Cyclones NCEA Equestrian finished up their regular season with a 7-3 win over the Big Green.
The unranked Cyclones faced Dartmouth for the second time this season and managed their first NCEA victory in the program’s history. The Cyclones started out with four out of five points over fences, then moved on to earn three more points on the flat. Aislinn Bermingham achieved MOP honors in both fences and flat, with scores of 88 and 89, respectively.
Over fences, the Cyclones’ Eva Froio earned her point 84-82, Aislinn Bermingham won 88-80, Elizabeth Furtkevic scored an 84 over a 71, and Kayley Besbris’ 81 bested a 75.
On the flat, Sophia Kassel scored an 86 to beat an 82, Froio topped an 81 with her 84, and Bermingham rounded out the last point with an impressive 89 to defeat an 82.

The Cyclones will next host a double-header on March 13 against both College of Charleston and Sacred Heart in Long Valley, NJ.
About the NCEA
A non-profit corporation, the NCEA is a governing body to advance the sport of equestrian. The NCEA is responsible for the development and administration of equestrian rules and guidelines. Equestrian is subject to all NCAA policies and procedures in the same manner as other sports. In 1998, Equestrian was identified and adopted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Committee on Women's Athletics (CWA) as an emerging sport for women at the Division I and II levels.
NCEA competitions are in a head-to-head format, and schools may choose to compete as a single or dual discipline team (Jumping Seat and Western). Each discipline has two events: in Jumping Seat, Fences and Flat, and in Western, Horsemanship and Reining. Teams can have five riders per event, with horses assigned by random draw at the start of the competition. Riders from opposing teams compete on the same horse, and whichever rider receives the higher score earns one point for her team. The level of difficulty is demonstrated by the accuracy of the pattern and how the competitor uses the horse to the best of her ability.
