WACO, Texas – Week three is about to get underway for the membership of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA). Here's what to watch for with the third week of action!
The Dual Discipline meets with Single Discipline schools do not count toward either's overall record.
10/9 – No. 5 TCU Hosts No. 8 Baylor / Live Stats
- A storied rivalry across all sports, Baylor takes on TCU in Fort Worth at KSM Bear Creek Farms.
- Baylor coming off tough battles against top-5 Georgia and Auburn. Lauren Reid earned both MOPs on the Jumping Seat side against No. 1 UGA, while newcomer Morgan McCarthy made a splash as one of two points for Flat for BU. Caroline Robelen earned the lone point for Jumping Seat on the Flat while Isabella Hehr had the sole point for Reining, both against then-No. 4 Auburn.
- The Bears lead the all-time series 26-15 against TCU but the Horned Frogs boast a 9-6 record at home against Baylor.
- This will be BU's first Big 12 meet of the season, while it's TCU's second.
- The Frogs have won 23 consecutive regular-season meets at KSM Bear Creek Farms.
- TCU is coming off the upsetting of Oklahoma State, 12-8, to rise in the polls. Jumping Seat rider Lex Lipacis took the MOP in both Fences and Flat while Sydney Feager earned the honor for Horsemanship.
DUAL DISCIPLINE MEET OF THE WEEK: 10/10 – No. 9 Fresno State Hosts No. 10 South Dakota State / Live Stats / Stream
- The Jackrabbits are coming off an upset of then-No. 10 UT Martin, taking its spot, as well as defeating Minnesota Crookston. This is the first time SDSU has opened its season with a 2-0 record.
- SDSU joins the Coaches Poll for the first time since March 19, 2021.
- This will be the first meet of the season for Fresno State.
- The Bulldogs have 13 newcomers and a new coach on the Jumping Seat side in former student-athlete Sara Tuck.
- Fresno State returns All-American Paris Mahoney for Flat, as well as veteran reiners Shelby Robinette and Brogan Hill, with Abby Goddard and Hailey Olson for Horsemanship.
- SDSU's Kayla Scherer was named the ECAC Rider of the Week for Flat after last week's performances, which included two wins and an MOP against Minnesota Crookston.
- Ten different South Dakota State riders went undefeated on the opening weekend of competition, posting two or more victories across the four categories.
SINGLE DISCIPLINE MEET OF THE WEEK : 10/10 – No. 5 Sewanee Hosts No. 1 Lynchburg

- This will be Sewanee's first official meet of the season, Lynchburg comes into it with a 2-0 reccord.
- The Tigers have a new head coach in Savannah Mannes, who led her squad 1-1 in exhibition meets with Minnesota Crookston and Delaware State two weeks ago.
- Sewanee returns junior Emma Sameth who was just named the Arion Flat Rider of the Month for September for the NCEA.
- Lynchburg's Abby Zemp has an MOP honor for Flat, as does Abigail Devlin, so far this season while Stella Patenaude has one for Fences.
10/10-11 – Delaware State Hosts No. 1 Georgia, SD's Centenary
- Delaware State had freshman Kendall Very named ECAC Rider of the Week for both Fences and Flat after wins in both against Minnesota Crookston.
- Georgia returns three of their seven riders who became top-10 for the Dawgs in their record book at the end of last season, including Madison Nadolencco, Tessa Downey and Tessa Brown.
- UGA swept both Horsemanship and Reining against Baylor last week in the season opener.
- Centenary went up against ranked opponents Sweet Briar and Lynchburg in week one along with Bridgewater, falling to all three. The Cyclones had their highest scores of the season on Sept. 26 against Sweet Briar, with Aislinn Bermingham scoring an 86 over Fences and Sophie Kassel with an 87 on the Flat.
10/10 – UC Davis Hosts No. 6 Texas A&M / Live Stats
- This will be the first meet of the season for both squads.
- UC Davis has six freshmen and has added four additional student-athletes to its roster.
- Texas A&M has nine freshmen on the squad, returning NCEA All-Americans Isabelle Gonzalez and Mattie Gustin (Reining) along with Kate Egan (Fences).
- It will be the fourth overall meeting between the programs, the maroon-wearing Aggies having a 4-0 record in the series.
- Texas A&M last claimed a 13-4 win over UC Davis in February 2025, highlighted by a sweep in Reining and an MOP performance from returners Gustin and Egan.
10/10 – No. 7 Oklahoma State Hosts No. 4 SMU / Live Stats
- Oklahoma State fell to then-No. 7 TCU last week, while SMU had a week off. OSU's Emma Filiatreau earned the MOP for Reining against the Frogs.
- In the Mustangs' first meet with South Carolina, Violet Shetler earned the MOP for Horsemanship and Madison Rafacz was honored for Reining. Both went on to be named Arion Riders of the Month for September.
- OSU is leading the series 13-9 all-time, but SMU has won the last six of of eight contests.
- Last time out, SMU defeated OSU, 14-5, on March 1 of 2025.
10/11 – UC Davis Hosts No. 10 South Dakota State / Live Stats
- Davis will be coming off the meet against Texas A&M to host the Jackrabbits.
- It will be the second ranked matchup for the Aggies in as many days, and the second matchup in as many days for SDSU.
