WACO, Texas – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced the seedings for the 2021 NCEA National Championship on Tuesday.
The 2021 National Championship is set for April 15-17 in Waco at the Extraco Events Center.
On the Dual Discipline side, The Auburn Tigers earned the No. 1 spot after an undefeated season and being crown the 2021 SEC Champions. The Big 12 Champion, Oklahoma State, came in at No. 2 and Georgia followed at No. 3. The SMU Mustangs remained at No. 4 after taking the inaugural ECAC title.
Placing third in the SEC Championship, Texas A&M moved up to No. 5 as the TCU Horned Frogs jumped up to No. 6 after earning Big 12 Runner-Up. Closing out the top eight are the Fresno State Bulldogs at No. 7 and the Baylor Bears at No. 8.
Outside of the top 8, four teams are designated as replacement teams for the championship. If a team has to withdraw from championship play due to COVID-19 related issues, a replacement team will fill their spot in the bracket. The deadline for teams to be replaced is April 6. After April 6, if a team is unable to play, the competition will be counted as a “no contest” and the opponent will automatically advance.
The inaugural Single Discipline national championship will feature Sweet Briar (4-2) at No. 1 and Lynchburg at No. 2.
